In this fantastical comedic satire of philosophic pretension, we meet a powerful fairy, a couple of flaneurs, a wicked queen duped by a dishonest soothsayer, a prince and princess cursed with forgetfulness and isolation, two young people who think they know everything, a hapless prime minister, a sausage maker and his big-hearted wife, a wise statue and statue that wishes she could weep, apples that sing, waters that dance, lions and tigers and bears, oh, and a little green birdie.
