Looking to submit your MGSA news, marketing request, or an edit to the website? You’ve come to the right place.

Advertisements

The communications team places digital ads through the semester to promote the school’s programs and events. We may place advertisements on Facebook, Instagram, and more. The advertisements are carefully crafted depending on the target audience and the goals of the campaign. In coordination with the admissions office, we also place print and digital advertisements for student recruitment.

If you are interested in placing recruitment advertisements, please email admissions@mgsa.rutgers.edu. If you are interested in using your department’s budget to place advertisements for any other purpose, please email Laurie Granieri at publicrelations@mgsa.rutgers.edu with the following information:

  • Budget
  • Purpose of the advertisements
  • Time frame to place the ads
  • Targeted audience*
  • Preferred platform*

*If you’re unsure about the audience you’d like to reach or the platforms that might be most effective, we’re happy to advise.

Rutgers advertising must be reviewed and approved by University Communications and Marketing in advance of placement, with few exceptions. Ads will be reviewed and/or approved within 5 business days. Learn more about the ad review process and advertising policy.

News & Accomplishments

Pitch a Story!

The Communications team has established this news submission form to simplify the process for reporting your good news. Anyone, at any time, may submit their news items directly to our team via this simple form.

What we can do for you
Publish on school-wide social media platforms, in the annual MGSA magazine, as well as the bi-weekly MGSA faculty/staff e-newsletter, and the bi-weekly patron e-newsletter; send to the Rutgers Today university news site, as well as local/state/regional media outlets, if applicable.

Submitting a story idea does not guarantee coverage. Our ability to cover stories depends on multiple factors: scope, subject matter, deadlines, relevance, and alignment with the school and the university’s priorities. If we opt to cover your story idea, we will contact you to discuss next steps. Please allow sufficient turnaround time. Read more about news submissions.

Marketing

Please use the Marketing Request Form to ask for assistance. Marketing materials may include flyers, postcards, posters, booklets, videos, etc.

What we need from you:

  1. Are the materials for digital, print, or both?
  2. What is your deadline to receive final documents?
  3. What is the budget for this project?

What we can do for you: Hire a designer (departments will complete hiring forms) and serve as a liaison between the designer and the department to come up with a promotional piece that is satisfying.

Photography

Please send all photography requests to publicrelations@mgsa.rutgers.edu.

  1. Date and time of the event
  2. What is your budget for this project?
  3. Please specify the nature of the event including location, your goal for the photos (group shots, singles, interaction between faculty and students, et al.), and any other pertinent information.

Plenty of images are available in the MGSA Photo Library.

Social Media

We host annual social media meetings for all social media managers, in which we review guidelines and best practices. For one-on-one consultations regarding questions about social media, please submit a Marketing Request Form. Browse guidelines and best practices for establishing and maintaining a social media presence on our Social Media Toolkit page.
