Sunni WItmer serves as an Adjunct Professor of Ethnomusicology at Rutgers Arts Online and Lecturer of Musicology and Ethnomusicology at Rollins College. Her area of speciality is the music of the Caribbean and Brazil, primarily early 20th-century urban popular genres and ensembles. She has conducted fieldwork in Cuba, Brazil, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Portugal, Nicaragua, South Africa, and Russia. At Rutgers, Dr. WItmer teaches the Studies in World Music Online course.
