I teach trumpet with an emphasis on vocalism; letting the student’s musical voice guide their trumpet studies. Partnering this liberating approach with fundamental studies and classical repertory fosters a well rounded student.

Biography

Luke Schwalbach is an internationally performing orchestral trumpeter and soloist. Luke has competed both nationally and internationally as a soloist, appearing frequently in the National Trumpet Competition since 2009, placing third in 2013 and winning in 2011. In 2015, Luke attended the prestigious Chosen Vale Trumpet Seminar, learning with Stephen Burns and John Wallace. In that same year, Luke graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy as a select Presidential scholar recipient. Luke has frequented the Chautauqua Institution, performing numerous symphonic and operatic works during their summer festival. Luke is currently an active freelancer throughout New York City, New Jersey, Florida, and southern Germany with orchestras including the Palm Beach Symphony and the Bad Vilbel Chamber Orchestra among many others. Luke counts among his teachers the renowned pedagogues Klaus Schuhwerk, Stefan Ruff, Vince DiMartino, Marc Reese, and Kenneth DeCarlo.
