Biography

Dr. Jay Dubin is in demand as a clarinetist and educator throughout the United States, as well as in Canada, Spain, and other international locales. Comfortable in multiple genres and cultural spheres, he performs with a diverse range of ensembles from Jewish music wedding bands, to the premiere orchestras of the world. With a particular affinity for opera, Dr. Dubin performs with numerous opera companies and orchestras, and appears regularly with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. He has served as Principal Clarinet for Light Opera New Jersey, The MidAtlantic Symphony, The Ozarks Opera Orchestra, and the Ohio Philharmonic. He also frequently performs on Broadway, appearing most recently on stage in the critically acclaimed production of Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish, directed by Joel Grey. Dr. Dubin teaches privately in the New Jersey area, and is a Lecturer of Music Theory at Rutgers University, where he also received his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree.
