Biography
Jahi Sabater is a lens-based artist and educator. He holds an MFA from Mason Gross, and a BFA from Parsons, New School of Design. Sabater has received the Enfoco Photography Fellowship, the NYFA Fellowship for photography, Brovero Photography Prize, and was a participant in the AIM program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. He has worked as an educator and technician at several institutions including Parsons School of Design, Columbia University, School of Visual Art (SVA), International Center of Photography (ICP), and CUNY Lehman College. Sabater’s studio practice explores tensions between the hypothetical, the viewer, and the history of photography.
