Biography

Originally trained as a Classical Dancer, Huw went on to train in allied dance forms as well
as acting and singing. His first professional engagement was as Cat and Principal Dancer in a touring production of Dick Whittington, followed by My Fair Lady (Gillian Lynne Theatre, Drury Lane). Huw worked extensively at the Redgrave Theatre, Farnham as both a performer and
choreographer/movement director. Productions included Amadeus (Kapellmeister Bonno), Lady Chatterley’s Lover (Field), Freedom to Forget, Richard II, Mansfield Park, East Lynne, The Cherry Orchard, The Secret of Beatrix Potter, Habeas Corpus, and Georges Dandin.

He also appeared with London City Ballet in their productions of Giselle and La Sylphide, with the Royal Opera Company in their acclaimed production of La Traviata directed by Sir Richard Eyre and with Opera South in their production of Eugene Onegin. Huw was also a member of Coranto, an ensemble specializing in performances of Historical Dance and Music performing at stately homes in London, Dorset, Wiltshire and Bath.

He has taught Historical Dance for over four decades working with actors in training at various London Drama Schools and for the Education Department at Shakespeare’s Globe, as well as workshops for professional actors.

Film credits include Dragonslayer, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Hamlet, Carrington, Jane
Eyre, The Wind in the Willows, Firelight, and Keep the Aspidistra Flying. Television credits include A Perfect Hero, The Bill, Poirot, If You See God Tell Him, Pride and Prejudice, Rebecca, and The Clothes in the Wardrobe.

Huw’s biography of iconic British Actress Diana Dors Passport to Fame; The Diana Dors Story was published in 2018, and he is currently working on his second book, a biography of another British Actress Liz Fraser which is due to be published in late 2025.
