Biography
David Murin, who has been honored with an Emmy Award for his work on ABC Daytime Television, has designed over 350 productions for Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional theatre, ballet, opera, and television. and Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus.
Broadway credits include  Crimes of the Heart, Steel Magnolias, and The Foreigner, Ned & Jack, Blues in the Night, Mixed Emotions, Devour the Snow, A Change in the Heir, A Talent for Murder, and The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial and supervised Edward Gorey’s designs for Gorey Stories.
Off-Broadway productions include The Common Pursuit, The Middle Ages, The Fourth Wall, and Ladyhouse Blues, To name only a few.
Regional theatres include Seattle Rep, George Street Playhouse, Paper Mill Playhouse, Long Wharf, Hartford Stage, Actors Theatre Of Louisville, Cleveland Playhouse, Alley Theatre, Arizona Theatre Co., Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse, Missouri Rep, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Huntington Theatre Co., Westport Playhouse, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Virginia Opera, & Pacific Northwest Ballet.
Mr. Murin has been both a Master Class Instructor at Temple University and a visiting design mentor at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Additionally, he has held the position of Head of Costume Design at Boston University.
Currently, Mr. Murin serves as a lecturer in costume design at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts.
