Biography

As a multidisciplinary artist, Cheon pyo Lee’s work incorporates sculpture, media, performance, curation, research, and design. In his projects, Lee explores themes of co-dependency between enemies, the sustainability of his partners, and his contingency in the creation of phantom presences.

Lee’s installations have been exhibited in Europe, Korea, and the United States. Including Changwon Sculpture Biennale, Seccion ARTE XIII, Habana Biennial, ISEA San Jose, Sema Blue at the Seoul Museum of Art, and Queens International.

Lee is the recipient of grants and residencies including Atelier Mondial Studio Residency, Swansea Canal research grant, ISCP Artist residency, Seoul Foundation of Arts Grant, The Andrea Frank Foundation Grant, AHL Foundation Contemporary Art Award, SEMA Artist fellowship, Off-site residency at El Museo de Los Sures, International Artist Residency at the University of Montana.
