Stage managers are leaders and collaborative facilitators, guiding as well as advocating for all of the artistic and technical team members working towards bringing a production to life.
Anne McPherson (she/her) is a stage manager based in New York City. She has worked on Broadway (Ain’t Too Proud, My Fair Lady, Once on this Island, The Iceman Cometh, M. Butterfly, Holiday Inn, Jersey Boys, Chicago, The King and I, Wicked, Les Misérables, Pippin, Motown the Musical, Mary Poppins, The Phantom of the Opera, The Coast of Utopia: Shipwreck, The Coast of Utopia: Voyage, Doubt, Absurd Person Singular), National Tours (The Book of Mormon, Mary Poppins, The Phantom of the Opera, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Off-Broadway (most recently: This Land Was Made, Suffs, The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe, The Rolling Stone, Hurricane Diane, The Government Inspector, Pacific Overtures), Regional Theater, Live Galas & Special Events, countless Workshops & Labs, and Broadcast & Streaming Events, performing almost every possible stage management role from Production Assistant to Production Stage Manager. A proud member of Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) and elected as an Eastern Region Stage Management Delegate to the AEA Constitutional Conventions for 2021 and 2022, she was named one of “50 Women to Watch on Broadway” in 2020 by the Broadway Women’s Fund. McPherson is a graduate of Reed College (BA, Literature/Theater) and the Yale School of Drama (MFA, Stage Management).
