MLK Celebration
Mason Gross students and faculty reflect on the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s. legacy through art.
The program includes an excerpt from a documentary about 1919 Rutgers alum Paul Robeson, a jazz medley of “Balm In Gilead” and “Precious Lord” by the award-winning Scarlet Knights Jazz Trombones, a performance of Valerie Coleman’s Portraits of Langston, choreography and accompanying dance film by EdM student Cassidy Rivas, an excerpt from faculty and artist Steffani Jemison’s Same Time, a scene from Katori Hall’s The Mountaintop, and remarks from Rutgers University President Holloway and Chancellor-Provost Conway.
